Information About Community Resources

2-1-1 Sacramento: Find Help Here

Dial 2-1-1 for free, 24-hour information on community, health and social services.  2-1-1 is a one-stop source of information for people looking for community services and resources, especially for those who need essential services, such as food, shelter, counseling, employment assistance, and more.  Callers receive personalized information from a live, well-trained resource specialist, who draws on a database of more than 1,600 programs and services to find the nearest and most appropriate resources for each caller.  2-1-1 is confidential, available in more than 150 languages, and is accessible to the hearing impaired.

Like 9-1-1 for emergency services, 2-1-1 has been set aside nationally by the Federal Communications Commission for the public to more easily access community information.  2-1-1 is also a central resource for community information during and in recovery from disasters.

In 2013, 2-1-1 Sacramento helped more than 131,000 callers find needed services, including free tax preparation for low-wage workers, services for seniors, counseling, family resource centers and much more.  Whether you need help finding care for an aging parent, assistance with housing and utility bills, resources for parenting young children or navigating the health care system, 2-1-1 is the number to call when you don’t know where to turn or whom to call.
